... about something to say the least. "Well, what is it?" Pete asked with a look of haste swimming across his face. Jarvis lead Pete over to the main testing area. "We discovered this late last night. Seems one of the plutonium pieces is…," he paused with a gulp, "changing." "Changing?!?!" "You better believe it because it took me an hour to comprehend what is going on." "What exactly IS going on?" Jarvis explained in his own special slightly whiny voice that he chose to break out only in large meetings but decided to give Pete the thrill of hearing now. One of the experimental pieces of plutonium had become so unstable that it had actually began changing f ...
... decided to walk around a little and look at the displays. There were many Jewish items that I had never seen before but Coley pointed out most of them and explained what they were and what they were used for. It didn't take very long for our tour guide to show up and lead us to the main tour. There was a short, maybe 15 minute tour with a tour guide, then a two and a half hour audio tour. The tour guide led us to two doors and told us to choose one. Above each door was a label one with the word "prejudice" and one with the word "unprejudiced." I tried to go through the unprejudiced door only to find out it was locked. When I asked the tour guide why it was l ...
... and intellectual expansion. Try as we, the people and lawmakers might, it is impossible to restrict a person from doing whatever is their desire and in their grasp. Any person, at any time, can say anything they want to. And for good reason. We are a democracy where the people make the rules, and the people own the country. The place that the government should step in is when it endangers, damages, or insults another human being. When the leaders of our country wrote the constitution of the United States, they knew that their rules would have to be broken sometime in the future. What they didn't think would happen, is that the rules would be broken barely more t ...

Homer is one of the “top dogs” at his work, and he has recently begun working with a lady by the name of Mary Larkins. It was kind of weird at first, for Homer, working with a female at a construction site. As soon as Homer began to get to know Mary, he realized that she was ...
... was that I didn't want to learn the introductory aspect of tennis, I wanted to start playing the actual game. While Suzanne and Erin were diligently practicing their forehand and backhand motions, I took private lessons focusing on my serve. Glancing their way, I would see them laughing and chatting as they walked to the clubhouse for a snack during a break. By expending all my energy on the game, I had hoped that my friends would respect my ability and that it would bring us closer together. Instead, I felt they were ostracizing me, which wasn't truly the case. Even so, Suzanne and Erin had developed a tight relationship of which I was envious. The closer th ...
... Sandra Bullock is looking at Guido, who's right next to her. She has a giant knot in her hair. Amniotic fluid is being dumped onto a beautiful dancing girls head. Mr. Manson is squating down, his half naked self-mutilated body glowing red under my lights. His arm is reaching out at me, trying to pull me into his twisted Willy Wonka world. I close my eyes and concentrate, leaving my ears, my nose, and my mind to do all the work for themselves. Realizing the stench in my room has gotten quite bad, I light some insense. It's almost 11:30, and I don't seem to be getting much writing done, so I'll sucumb to the greater power known as t.v.. I turn on D ...
... come home from the hospital, he told us all that our mother had been envlolved in a serious car accident, and that she wouldn't be home for a few weeks. I don't remember very much after that, except for the fact that the period of time my mother was in the hospital fell on her birthday. So, all of the family, except me, sat down next to the stereo. My father plugged in a microphone, popped in a blank cassestte and hit record. Each one of the children started to sing "Happy Birthday", then ended with a personal message. My father then recorded his message. I was in so much shock and horror that I didn't want to record anything. I was under the belief that my mother ...

The passengers nervous, expecting to hear shots fired. The jumped at every bump in the road that the wheels struck. Clutching their baggage close, they prayed that the night would pass quickly. The Highwayman, alerted to the approaching stage, was hidden by the road, and concealed by the fog, he was not yet able to discern the light from the quickly approaching lantern. Clutching his pistol, his only weapon, he planned to take all the that he desired from the stage. His fa ...
... costume consisting of only a rawhide g-string with a short apron front. His sandals had leather cords winding halfway up his legs. This dance depicted a story of a hunter and his prey. It was narrated by a woman who was also in costume. Brightly dressed Mexican men were beating drums and banging sticks providing the sound effects for the story. This was truly a great beginning to a wonderful afternoon. Behind the restaurant was a low mountainous area, accessible by walking trails only. We hiked one of these trails, observing the brightly colored tropical plants and trees that flourished on this well maintained terrain. A beautiful waterfall added to the splendor, a ...
... It teaches me that my writing really wasn't very good. What I used to think deserved an "A" I now realize only does deserve a "C." Now I have to take my writing more seriously, and try much harder at producing good output. Also, my goal isn't to write a paper that will get a good grade. Now, my goal is to write better papers. I write to become a better writer. That is, I feel, a very important thing that I learned this semester. I don't think, "O.K., I have to get at least a B on this paper." Instead, I think, "O.K., I have to use this assignment to improve my work." This is a much better approach because it causes the writer to try to produce a well ...
