Title: Music In Video Games
Details: Words: 1356, Pages: 5... examining the contribution of the preceding technological advancements,
one can see that technology has indeed caused great improvements for music in
the video game industry.
The first technological enhancement which greatly enhanced the quality of
music in video games is the number of bits which a sound Central Processing Unit
(CPU) has. The sound CPU is a component in a video game system which controls
every single sound which a system produces. This, then, obviously includes
music. Specifically, the CPU controls what sounds are to be played at what time,
their volume and dynamics, and each sound's length and rhythm. In a sense, the
sound CPU acts as a co ...

Title: Comparison Between Piano Concert By Barbara Wieman And Sacramento Chamber Orchestra
Details: Words: 1008, Pages: 4... performing this piece and seemed to be
very emotional while playing. This piece was very distinct and there was an
effective use of rests that was displayed. I would call this piece very serious.
After Beethoven we were treated to F. Schuberts Impromptu in G flat Major, Op.
90, No.3. This piece was very pleasing to the ear so we could call this
consonant. The music seemed to flow and had a great rhythm. This piece was
romantic in nature and probably that is why it was written in the romantic era.
C. Debussy ‘s Feux d'artifice (fireworks) was the next piece played. The
harmony was very obscured in this piece of music. The theme trying to be
presented in th ...

can a guy own and get charged with repairs with out finding out.
To start of with some other bills that were found on his account in
1995 were rental fees for condos and homes. Charged with more than
$120,000 in rental cost for a Malibu home that was actually occupied by
Kenner. Complaints by Afeni, Tupacs mother, were that Kenner failed to
protect the interests of Tupac. Kenner collaborated with Suge Knight to
drain cash from Tupac’s royalty accounts (Gill). More than $100,000 to
furnish an apartment owned by Death Row. In 1996 rent totaling $57,600 was

Title: Origins And History Of The Dulcimer
Details: Words: 513, Pages: 2... dulcimers are common in traditional Irish music. It is played by
striking the strings with padded wooden hammer.
It is commonly believed that the dulcimer came to Europe from the East sometime
in the fifteenth century. This cannot be true. The dulcimer is closely related
to the yang ch'in from China. However, the yang ch'in was introduced to the
Chinese around 1800. A similar traditional dulcimer found its way to Korea in
about 1725. The dulcimer originated as the santir in what is now Iraq from a
Greek instrument, the psalterion. The santir was a trapeziodal box covered with
strings. It was played by striking the strings with light sticks. From there

Title: Drugs In The Music Industry
Details: Words: 1185, Pages: 5... linked to heroin
through a member's overdose, arrest, admitted use or recovery is staggering:
Smashing pumpkins, Everclear, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Dr. Dre, Blind Melon, Red Hot
Chili Peppers, The Breeders, Alice in Chains, Sex Pistols, Sublime, Iggy Pop,
the list goes on and on. Together, these bands have sold more than 60 million
albums(Newsweek pgs 50 & 53).
Since kids emulate popular musicians, what is there to keep them from
emulating their drug use? Moreover, what's to keep the majority of the
population from doing the same? In the 60's and 70's, drug use was never spoken
of nor did anyone admit that it was a problem. Nowadays, there is not a person
in the ...

Title: Jerry Garcia And The Grateful Dead

ran near the city's waterfront. He spent much of his time there listening to
the drunks', fanciful stories; or sitting alone reading Disney and horror comics
and pouring through science-fiction novels.
When Garcia was fifteen, his older brother Tiff - who years earlier had
accidentally chopped off Jerry's right-hand middle finger while the two were
chopping wood - introduced him to early rock & roll and rhythm & blues music.
Garcia was quickly drawn to the music's funky rhythms and wild textures, but
what attracted him the most were the sounds that came from the guitar;
especially the bluesy "melifluousness" of p ...

Title: WoodStock Music Festival
Details: Words: 1489, Pages: 6... After a long
search for a large enough space, the partners eventually rented a field
from a local dairy farmer, Max Yasgur, who owned land about 48miles from
Woodstock, in the town of Bethel.
Early in the week before the festival, it became clear that the
event as going to draw a much larger audience than expected. By the day
before the official opening, traffic jams miles long blocked most roads
leading to the area. On Friday, August 15, when the festival began, its
management was unable to watch the estimated 400,000 or more people coming
into and out of the field and decided to end admission fees. Sweetwater,
the band scheduled to open the festival, could ...

Title: Sweeney Todd
Details: Words: 311, Pages: 2... sets are fairly elaborate. Sweeney's barber shop is above the
bakery. His barber chair flips back to send the dead bodies of his victims
downstairs so Mrs. Lovett can prepare them for the pies.
My favorite song is the title song, "The Demon Barber of Fleet
Street". It tells the story of Sweeney Todd.
Although what Sweeney Todd does is wrong, I did feel sorry for him.
He had lost his family and lost his mind also. Mrs. Lovett helped him for
two reasons. She needed the money and she fell in love with him.
I first saw this musical when I was very young. It is still one of
my favorites. George Hearn plays Sweeney Todd and his singing is great.
But it is A ...

Title: Stan Kenton & His Orchestra

Upon graduation from Bell High School he worked during the day as a rehearsal pianist in dance halls and theaters. At night he paid his dues in a succession of after-hours bars, clip joints and five dollar-a-night speakeasies prevalent throughout the depression-era southwest until he was able to assemble his own 14-piece orchestra in June of 1941. A dominant characteristic of this relatively small Kenton Orchestra was the choppy, staccato manner of phrasing that was especially noticeable in the writing for the reed ...

The small particles cause chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, emphysema and lung cancer. The second type is sulfur oxides, which come from the burning of coal and industrial processes. Damage to materials, to vegetation, and to the human respiratory system are caused by the acid nature of oxides. The third type of pollutant is carbon monoxide.
