... window, lights his beautiful head up. I embrace his warm neck, kiss his soft nose and offer him some sugar. He sniffs me round and I feel that he is glad to see me as well. Almost all day long we spend together. We walk around in the green field, strewed with small, spring, colorful flowers. The air is filled with smell of the fresh grass. I share with him all the news I had gotten up to that time. And then, finally, splitting the air impregnated with spring, we rush along across the field into the distance, into the perspective, into nowhere. I feel the power of my reliable friend, while holding onto his black mane. The speed, moving the bodies in time, brea ...
... It teaches me that my writing really wasn't very good. What I used to think deserved an "A" I now realize only does deserve a "C." Now I have to take my writing more seriously, and try much harder at producing good output. Also, my goal isn't to write a paper that will get a good grade. Now, my goal is to write better papers. I write to become a better writer. That is, I feel, a very important thing that I learned this semester. I don't think, "O.K., I have to get at least a B on this paper." Instead, I think, "O.K., I have to use this assignment to improve my work." This is a much better approach because it causes the writer to try to produce a well wr ...
... wouldn't change his mind. He was getting really mad at his dad because he really wanted to go. So instead of waiting a few days until the weather got better he decided he would take the boat out by himself. He told his dad that he was going to his friend Justin's house, but instead he took the boat keys and went to their boat. His dad let him drive it all the time, so he figured it would be a breeze. He got on the boat and sat down to rest for a little while. He shut his eyes and fell asleep. Within minutes he was driving the boat. He drove for about 15 minutes and then stopped and started fishing. He pulled up his line once the water began to get choppy in ...
... "Millions" of relatives are giving me there greetings and gladly inviting us into the house. As my family and I are quickly made comfortable, I look around..... Plates full of Christmas pastries, Christmas decorations, and Christmas music lightly penetrates the air as the family socializes with each other. The constant murmer of the voices, serves as a background for the music. My cousins are running making their laps around the living room while playing tag and laughing to their hearts content. I hear a voice saying "My have you ever grown up!" I turn to my left and stand up to address my complimenter. Grandma, awaken from her heavenly sleep, stands slight ...
... in the light was the old man with the book. "I wandered you not to come here boy," said the older man. "You don't understand what power this book has over people. I can not stop you from taking this book, but I can warn you. Today is July 17th, now, I open the book to the first page and I can see what is in store for you today. Now, everyone in town can look to see what was in story for them on that day and that day only. Anyone who goes past the page with the same date as that day will not like their future. Death is usually what comes because these are the gods." After that, the old man guided him out of the woods so that he could show all the towns ...
... Yes that's what happened, the wind had blown it there when he was off in dreamland. Oh well, he thought and then he picked it up. The card had printing on it. It simply read, "go look in your mail box". Keith gave out a small chuckle and thought about his mailbox. Was someone joking around with him? It was probably that pesky neighbor boy, James. He was always coming up with something new and unusual to try out on his neighbors. "What the hell", Keith said aloud. He then stood up and walked over to his mailbox and opened it up. "Yep, another card", he said. The same small, black print on it too. Except this card said something just a little diffe ...
... was fun for awhile till it got tough and then we started to head back. On the other island Barbados they had the best beaches you could imagine. The water was so clear and the sand was so white and soft it felt like a pillow. We went swimming over there for about 2 hours. While we were there you could see the bottom at least 30 feet deep. There were no rocks to cut you at all it was just like the sand on the beach. It was lots of fun. When we got tired we went back to the ship and got cleaned up for dinner. Our next island was St. Martinique. This island was were we got to go up a big mountain in a cab and at the top was a big cave that was filed with stalagt ...
... the aircraft. "Ready to rock n' roll." Steward pulls the Blackbird out of the hanger like a cumbersome Oldsmobile, but only this special Oldsmobile can travel over twice the speed of sound undetected by enemy radar. With a push of the throttle the twin-turbine engines roar with authority. The bird takes flight disappearing into the night skies evanescently. The only sign that it exists is the trademark sonic boom as it passes the sound barrier. After approximately seven hours flight time and two in-flight re-fuelings, the Blackbird reaches its destination, Moscow, Russia. The thermal imaging camera, located in the bird's hull, depicts the rad ...
... box tickets and a parking pass, for that nights Ranger game. I couldn't have been more excited, much less believe my luck. After I got off work , and picked up the tickets, I raced home to get my wife and son ready to go. Over the next half hour, I almost regretted having to bring my son, what with the hassle of getting the diaper bag packed , the traffic, and fighting the crowds while pushing a stroller. It was hectic, but I survived. Finally we were situated and ready for the game. The singing of the national anthem was finished and we were waiting for the first pitch. All of a sudden it hit me, for some reason I couldn't have been prouder. There I ...
... boat that pulls into the bay and counting the number of fish on board and having to write fines to the sailors that had too many fish. This sure wasn't a popular job in the bay area. I was smart enough to figure I could be on the other side of the law and rob and steal vessels so I became an oyster pirate. I had a real passion for the sea and so in 1893 I took a job as a common sailor aboard a sealing vessel that ventured as far as Japan. This lasted about a year. When I returned back to the bay area I drifted from job to job. I told you I liked to wander. I left the bay and headed for New York City. I went on the road and lived as a tramp. With ...
