... with him to avenge the death of their families. They came into view of the enemy, and Sweating Moose-Balls recognized one of them. The man was old now, but he had been the one who had killed his father. The other ten warriors also recognized him, along with a few of the older men. Wanting revenge, the tribe encircled the men and moved in. Soon, the white men were trapped, and they noticed. Sweating Moose-Balls stepped forward, and spoke to the first old man. "You are the one who killed my father." he said. "yes, and we want to apologize. Your mothers have taken over our houses, and we need you to take them back." the old man pleaded. Sweating Moose-Balls ...
... frightful stories were ghost stories. A group of five to ten children would sit around and listen to the teller with great attention and tension. As a rule, for the best effect, these frightful stories were told at nighttime in the garden. Everybody tried to look very brave, including me. However, in the depth of my heart, I was afraid of darkness. That’s why each time I returned home I did not walk, but ran with the feeling that heroes of the stories would come alive and make terrible trouble for me. I don’t remember how long these story-telling sessions went on, maybe a few months during the summer. It was so interesting to listen while holding my bre ...
... remember driving, looking out of the window at the mountains and clay colored rocks. I realized just how beautiful it all was. Again, my thoughts turned back to my life. The man I thought I would end up sharing my so-called perfect life with. I could see his face, remember his smile, hear him laugh. Jim and I were great friends for a long while. Almost a whole year, until I began to actually feel something stronger. I had never been in love before and it had been an overwhelming feeling. At a party, I had too much to drink and on the way home blurted out how I had felt. He smiled and drove me home. The next day he came by my house and sat me down and to ...
... about it. “We’re the only ones who don’t steal,” he said. And I knew we were. Over the course of the next few weeks, I watched loads of equipment leave the store. Three Palm Vs were now in Martin’s possession, Jesse made off with some RAM, Doug robbed some hard drives, and Jason even pilfered a laptop. Most of the guys claimed that the lack of proper wages justified the theft. “After all,” Doug said one day, “All we’re doing is stealing from Staples what they owe us anyway.” I was scared. Was there a chance of losing my job if I didn’t reveal the secret to a member of management? And if I did tell, would getting involved put me at risk? When i ...
... with the warm caressing breeze, carefully merging the two scents into one fresh, clean fragrance. You pry yourself away from the immense meadow, still filled with many unexplored treasures and turn back into the foliage covered depths of the forest. The sun is comfortably placed in front of the cotton candy clouds, in the midst of the soft blue sky. The occasional bird soars through in a last minuet attempt to catch a worm so it may feed the yearning mouths of it's young. The rough dirt trail ends and you are brought to the base of a rock. Your feet reach for the unfamiliar footholds of the high rocky promontory, anxiously scrambling up the streaky pinkish roc ...

... and started to walk back to her house. Aunt Sally says to me , “Now that you with me all your old ways are to end”. “You will be starting school soon and I expect you to do as I say”. I turned my head towards her and nodded. Little did she know what kind of thoughts were going through my head at the time. After what she had just said I don't think that I will be able to stand it. I knew that I was a free boy, I made up my own rules and nobody was going to sivilize me no matter what! The house came into view after walking for a few miles. I entered first with Aunt Sally walking right behind me. She said , “Tomorrow were are goin ...
... up and down a tree chasing one another. I looked deeper into the woods and saw a squirrel burying his nuts in the ground, so it will have food for over the winter. A few feet in front of me were red ants clawing all over a dead log. There were tons of them clawing all around carrying little pieces of food. All the animals where getting ready for the cold winter that is ahead of us. Across in the neighbor's backyard were birds eating from a bird feeder. I heard birds chirping then over top the birds I heard geese for off in the woods by the lake. I was lucky didn't get bitten by any bugs or flies, I guess it was because the wind was blowing. I could smell the ...
... to her for advice. As she approached the exit of the Hundsen's store she noticed a handsome guy standing in the checkout line. The line was very long, but it was almost his turn. It seemed like she had met him before, but his name would not come to her. He stood about six feet tall and had light brown hair. He was wearing a shirt almost exactly like the one she was wearing. She stood by the door to put her leather jacket on, and watched the guy pay for all of his merchandise. The store was a crowded street waiting for a parade to start. People were bumping into each other every were you went. Before she walked out the door she turned to take one ...
... Trust is something that can take years to build, but can be broken very easily. By breaking trust with a family member one is also breaking respect of the family. The two ideas go hand in hand. My parents respected me enough to tell me that I was adopted, instead of lying to me and having me find out later in life that I wasn't their biological son. This respect that my parents gave me, in turn gave me their trust. And I gave them the respect and trust that was given to me. Without sacrifice, a family cannot be. The sacrifices that family members make for each other show the willingness to be an unselfish part of a family. Sacrifices also display the l ...
