Wells and Henry James. Crane also covered the Spanish American War for Joseph Pulitzer’s New York World. During the last few years of his life, he was in debt and suffering from tuberculosis. He died on June 5, 1900 while he was in Germany he was only 29. Some of Cranes most famous works are The Red Badge Of Courage (1895), The Blue Hotel (1898), and War is Kind and Other Lines (1899).
