.... and harder to locate a business in town. We need to make Chico a place where people want to raise their children, where they want to build their lives. People have told me, and I agree. Chico is a fun place to live. That is the side we need to put forward. We have a large community that feels like a small town, but that will not stay, much as we may like it. It is also not conducive to growth or industry. We must remind ourselves that Chico is truly a small city, and not a large town. As a city we can not continue to function economically without jobs. Chico, besides the fast food, and other low wage jobs, has no significant job market. ....
