.... I had to be old enough to know better. going down into the basement for the first time and seeing all kinds of equipment. There are quite a few things you need to make candles. The first time I helped I only needed scissors, to trim the wicks, and newspaper to wrap the finished candles. As I got older, my tasks increased. Finally, I was able to prepare the molds, pour the wax and color the candles. The main supplies needed to make candles are: wax, molds, wax coated string (wicks), a large needle, dye, dye pots, pitchers, buckets, cooling pots, wooden rods, a griddle, blow torch, water tubs (we use feeding troughs for horses), drying racks ....
