When Oedipus is on his way from Corinth he runs into his real father and kills him and then defeats the Sphinx to become the new king of Thebes. After this first accusation the reader can see that not only is the king accused of murder but he has committed murder before. Oedipus unknowingly killed his own father but also married his mother.
