There is no doubt that is a moving story of racial injustice in the South as well as a touching coming-of-age story. The courtroom scene demonstrates the depth of the bigotry in the area, stirring the consciences of all readers. Only the most obtuse of readers c .... As good as the novel is, this uneven characterization happens throughout. Scout repeatedly discovers ideas that are more suited to someone much older.
